Not sure where else to put this post

As many of you long time members of this site and forum have noticed, my interests have changed. I'm still very much into crossings, but a much less intensity.

Since Chris died, I have started focusing more on more elaborate photography pursuits. I've also pretty much exhausted any noteworthy crossings in a 100 mile or more radius of where I live.

Since Mike died, I've also lost a frequent IM and email friend. His many communications by various forms kept me on the go for this site. Sometimes just for him.

In any event, my change in direction photography wise means I will be very sparse in future submissions. Life goes on.

If anyone wants, I'm offering my complete crossing signal collection (on this site), on DVD. Free of charge.

Last time I checked, it was 971mb. 501 folders, 5,316 images. Most of them at 800X600.

Last time I checked, it was also (mostly) coherently organized.

PM me your address. It may take a bit.

BTW. Thank you for your support in my recent trials. Over 300 views of that slide show of Chris and I ! Thanks so much!!!

:Cry1: This was a very depressing post and it could go in either the Previews section or the General Chat section

I have changed some interests too, as you can see, I have just returned to the site after another hiatus. I have gotten a huge interest in WWE wrestling and I kind of forgot about this message board. Ever since the threat to shut down the site by Mike, it went down the toilet with Mike's health and bloody feces, I cried all night when he passed away and it's sad I could never join the forum while he was running it, it would've been very nice.

I just uploaded a new video to my YouTube account yesterday. Before that, the last video I uploaded was in December, uploading to Youtube is sometimes a chore for me as life hasn't been the same since grandpa died in 2007.

If you could, you may upload the DVD into parts on your account, I have a summer job as a library assistant and don't have much time otherwise but that's not saying anything bad at all, your photos are very nice on here and taking photos means for me to have lots of USB jacks. I am currently uploading all the photos to Ipernity as Flickr has also gone to hell and I am not in the mood to work on it.

What are your new interests? You are one of my favorite railfans and I hope to see you really soon!

New interests? None. I now have the time to pursue more fully the same interests I have always had.

I recently was able to attend a two day seminar put on by Nikon. Had a wonderful time, but it was also bittersweet.

You see, Christine knew I wanted to pursue photography more as a professional. My obligations to her obviously prevented that. No complaint there. Just comes with the saying of "I do".

A few days before she died, she said that she really hoped I could do just that, "...once I had more time..." Code for when I no longer had to care for her. So, I was eager to go to the seminar, but then only reason I could go.....

I'm just offering the pictures to anyone who wants them. That's all. DVD only. No upload.

Mike had tons of free time on his hands, and chose to devote that time and energy into this site. I doubt any who are trying to keep it going have that luxury.

BTW Lard Guy. "...bloody feces." was crass, and totally uncalled for.

Bill,

That's completely understandable that you want to move on, especially with two major losses happening so close together.

I've still got quite a backlog of crossing pictures that haven't made it onto the site, because I was very busy in late 2010-early 2011 and by the time I had some time to talk to Mike he was already dealing with his illness and did not feel up to dealing with them. The current managers do the best they can (including banning the recent troll), but our paths rarely cross often enough that we can get something done on them.

Recent troll? Anyone I don't want to know??

I just am curious if anyone wants a copy of the crossings I did. Not trying to show off or anything. Not trying to make anyone feel sorry for me. Just an offer.

Referring to ns0333 who came on here and started bumping old (as in last posted in 2+ years ago old) threads with semi-literate snide comments. Every time I came on here and found one of his posts I felt like I'd gone back to the 5th grade.

I appreciate the offer but I don't think I need a DVD of all your pictures...unless you're planning to have them removed from the site?

Bloody feces was the only thing I could think of, when I posted that I knew it was offensive and rude and just remembered it was colon cancer :CloseEye:  but anyway it's nice to hear that life is doing somewhat better.
