Strange Light

Does anyone know who makes the yellow light in the picture? Also, why is it there? This is the Broadway railroad crossing in Burlingame, CA.

From the looks of it, it looks like this light just serves as an indicator to the engineer that the signals are functioning properly, though I'm not really sure to be honest, because it's the only one there at the entire crossing and not one for the other side.

It appears as there is no lens on that crossing light.

My guess is that it's a standard 12" incandescent crossing light.

Probably
