Microlok with PSO-4000

Hi,
I am an intern electronic engineer.
Can someone please help me with some questions about PSO 4000 Siemens?
In an instrument house we have to use Microlok II controller with PSO-4000 (Siemens) train detection.
I have used PSO 4000 with Electrologixs but never with Microlok.
Anyone with patience to help someone to learn?
Thank you,
Abel

I see this is a few months old but I will still try and help. The answer depends on your intended setup. Are you using the track circuit crossing mode that has built in island and stick circuit or stand alone and then gonna do all the logic in microlok? Does microlok needs to see the status of all the circuits or just the end result of approach, island etc? Let me know and I will provide more specific advice .

One a side note regarding microlok I am developing a maintenance/diagnostics tool that can discover every microlok on the network and if you have AF-902/904 track circuits will discover those also. Then you can view in real time how everything is connected, comm status as well as
Vital data such as target speed, line speed, distance to go etc for every track circuit. Got it working for our rail line at Los Angeles Metro but would want to make it available and useful for any configuration. Let me know if you are interested in such a tool and of course pass this on to your colleges and customers. Can reply to this thread if you are interested and any features you may want me to add. Or email me chuck dot Weissman at gmail dot com.

I cannot answer your question about the MicroLok II interface, but does anyone have instructions for setting up the PSO 4000 track circuit frequencies (transmit and receiver)?

Thanks,

RRogers

Electrified or Non-Electrified track?

It's electrified. The set up went normally but when it calibrates, it says calibration fails. It was working prior to the cutover. It is continuously welded rail and about 1500 ft long approach track circuit. I suppose the unit could have failed.

Did any of these changes occur at the time of the cutover?

Transmit / Receive power level
Approach length
Island length
Type of approach shunts (number, type & frequency)
Insulated Joint Couplers (number, type & frequency)
Any other loads (i.e. track filters) added
Any AC noise interference not filtered

What other type of track circuits are present?

Sorry to steal your post abel. I haven't worked with Microlok in years. What exactly are you looking for?

Also make sure both transmit and receive units are programmed for the same address.

The approach length was shortened by only 10 ft. And there is an AD track circuit overlay but it has a filter.
We had the circuit up after the cutover but last week the authority did an upgrade to the power feed at the transmit end so it was offline for the last week.

It should have come right up but something is just set wrong.

If the transmit power changed from hi to low (or vice versa), the receiver needs to be recalibrated.
