Check this out... the line seems to be close to dead... but look closely at the crossbuck and # of tracks signs... they both appear to be inverted.

If you continue west, the tracks disappear... if you go east, there's been a road improvement project where they installed brand new signals with gates, but look at the condition of the track. Perhaps there's a sliver of a chance this line is used yet, or something may be in the works... But I doubt I'd hold my breath over it.

Actually if you follow it back into Fremont, you'll find a Red Board up...

Here the out-of-service line and the parallel active one form a double crossing, so that gated Griswold still sees action:

Neat set up. Interesting that with the distance between the tracks that it wasn't set up as two seperate crossings.

The 'inactive track' belongs to the Fremont and Elkhorn Valley tourist line, which I have seen operate to at least the Yager Road crossing in Fremont, but they may go farther on some days. This was a former CNW line, and still has some 8" signals in the Fremont area. The active line belongs to BNSF, and is moderately active - generally something will show up in two hours.

Right, but it gives the appearance of being inactive in the street views due to:

A.) Overgrown track

B.) A red board blocking the only access to the line

Maybe they run seasonally? I have found some pictures on rrpicturearchives.net, looks like they did cut the grass.
