My camera doesn't like the WCH 2nd Generation LEDs on the CSX Chattanooga Sub very much for some reason.

This crossing is rather busy as it gets both NS and CSX traffic due to it being just west of where the NS Memphis District joins up with the CSX Chattanooga Sub for both lines to get to Chattanooga, TN. The track closest to the camera is the CSX Chattanooga Sub and the track farther from the camera is the NS Memphis District.

After trying (and failing) to catch NS 362 in Scottsboro, I decided to race on up here to see if I could get them once more. However, after a bit of waiting (and it being clear that they were waiting at Crow Creek siding to the southwest of here for something), I decided to go around a bit and see what the block signals around the crossing were reading. Turned out that there was a westbound train approaching the crossing on the Chattanooga Subdivision that was lined for the NS Memphis District, so I went back here and set back up. After just a bit more of waiting, the train showed up and turned out to be NS 365 with probably my favorite catch of the day: two Dash-9s leading, with the older one at the front, leading a ET44AC, elephant style! Can't say something like this is all that common, especially these days, so while a bit more on the typical side in terms of the locomotives used, it was still nice to see.

Been a good few years since I last recorded this crossing. In the years since 2015, the Safetran Type 3 e-bell on the closer side died and CSX replaced it with an NEG e-bell. Other than that though, these gateless early 2010s signals have remained pretty much unchanged since 2015, so that's nice to see. Always nice to hear an NEG/Safetran Type 3 combo as well.

After catching NS 283, I went back up to Stevenson and hung-out here with another railfan, as we were waiting on NS 101 to eventually show-up (as it had NS 1800 leading), but it sadly sat in Chattanooga all day without a crew. However, while I was waiting, this southbound CSX coal train came through with an ES44AH leading an ES40DC on the head-end, and another ES44AH working as the mid-train DPU.

As you can see, since I last recorded this crossing, CSX has replaced the bell on this side with another NEG electronic bell. Bit of a shame this crossing has lost both of its original Safetran Type 3 e-bells now, but the remaining one here had died, so that's why it was replaced as well.
And yes, I know, this shot's backlit, but the sun wasn't too great on either side of the crossing (IIRC) and this one was the side with the new bell, so that's why I set-up over here.
