According to the article, if the deadline for safety improvements is not extended, BNSF, UP, Amtrak, and CSX will stop running trains altogether.

According to the article, if the deadline for safety improvements is not extended, BNSF, UP, Amtrak, and CSX will stop running trains altogether.

That's about half of the Class Is in the US, and most of the track mileage, so I can see the Government extending the deadline for the PTC upgrades.
