Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran Type 3 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, a RECO LED gate light, and RECO gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran Type 3 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG gate lights.
After catching NS 362, I went on out to the west end of Sheffield Yard to wait for NS 329 to leave. However, while waiting, I heard NS A83 approaching, so I set-up at this crossing to catch him. After a bit of waiting, A83 came rolling into the yard with a pair of SD40-2s for power.
Been a while since I've recorded either crossing on Elledge Lane, hasn't it? Well, I can honestly say nothing major has changed at this crossing, outside of the far signal getting a new LED gate light. Still a nice little crossing to record though, especially since its the easternmost crossing on the NS Memphis District West End.
Southbound signal: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran Type 3 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO gate lights.
Northbound signal: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran Type 3 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG gate lights.
On July 8th, I went back over to the Shoals to see about filming some more crossings, and decided to swing by the west end of Sheffield Yard first. Here, I saw that NS had an eastbound lined into the yard, and quickly started hearing said eastbound make its way across the Shoals, so I decided to set-up here. After a bit of waiting, this NS 732 came through into Sheffield Yard with a BNSF SD70ACe leading a BNSF ES44AC on the head-end and another BNSF SD70ACe and an "executive" painted BNSF SD70MAC working as the DPUs. The crew was also friendly and gave me a horn salute.
While waiting for NS 733 to get here, I started hearing another train following 732 into the yard. This train turned-out to be NS A87, which had a pair of SD40-2s running lite back into Sheffield with a nice RS3L on the leader.
As you can see, nothing too major has changed to this crossing since I last recorded it. However, both gate arms have been replaced with vertically striped ones since my last video, and the far signal now has all RECO incandescent gate lights again.
