Those just look like traffic light masts with crossing lights on them.

Reminds me of the cantilevers used on the "Back To The Future 3" movie.

looks like a cantilever you'd find in Japan.

That's exactly what I was going to say! In fact, I am watching that movie right now on one of the Showtime channels.

After checking with Google Street View, that is in fact, the same line that does have the same crossing as shown in Back to the Future 3.

There are about 4 or 5 of those traffic light cantilevers along that line.

Quite a mix of new(er) and old(er) equipment on that line, including a busted A-Frame gate.

I decided to look around on Street View as well (at least the streets that are actually on there). Look at the signal on the left... I assume for pedestrians? There is one of these on the other side as well.

OK... this doesn't show the cantilevers unfortunatley, but it does show at least part of the crossing signals.

This is not the real scene in the movie... it is actually a spoof that somebody did, mixed two movies together (you will see what I mean). But, it is the only scene I could find with the crossing signals in it.

Is the crossing from BTTF III on Street View?
