BAD NEWS...

Hi all,

A virus has struck my father's computer, and it is no ordinary virus, it's an infamous chain of viruses. These :Censored: :Curse1: didn't even let him log in to his computer. Now I lost much of my railroad crossing pics :Cry1: :Cry1:  :No1: :OhWell: :aaargh: :Awww:

It is the infamous Trojan virus followed by the vicious Google Redirect Virus and then some. They even couldn't let him use Malwarebytes.

I am going to go around to every CSX crossing in the area that the photos might have vanished of and RETAKE EVERY SINGLE PHOTO! :OhWell:

Just wished I backed the photos up... :Cry1: :Cry1:

Regards,
Tolga

Sorry to hear about that. Malware authors piss me off, and I wish there was more being done to track them down. May be a lesson learned to late for you, but this is a good reminder for everyone to back up your photos and other important files! I use both CD-ROMs and external hard drives for backups. Saved my bacon when I've accidentally deleted or changed stuff, although no major hardware failures yet.

Good luck re-taking your pictures. :TUP2:

Alright, things are looking progressively better. *dries tears

My dad has been mislead to delete an important line in the registry, he fixed that and things are okay, but... We are still infected.

:OhWell: :Noway: :Awww:

I can back up the photos, but I will still retake much of them. My photographing tactics have improved since I got a Sony Cybershot DSC-W150 for my birthday back in October.

The photos are huge, but resizing does a favor in quality.

Besides I won't take the kinds of shots from a dashboard. I am over that! :LOL2: :Tongue2: :LOL3:

You're lucky. I lost all of my files....

At least I submitted about half of my latest trip to Mike back in November before all the site problems. I'll just have to go out this spring and get them again...

I got Norton Protection free with my new computer, but it says the subscription is running out! :Eeeeek:

Haha, not to worry, I run Windows Defender each day, and as soon as it detects something, this happens to the virus:

PS: Windows Defender is better than Norton, it detected the 'comanglia' virus and Norton didn't. :2cents:
