Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs, a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs, a sick General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.

This is the second crossing I've been to with both NEG and RECO LED gate lights at it. The signal on the right used to have incandescent RECO gate lights, but CSX replaced the gate-arms here, along with the gate lights on the signal on the right. I'm also honestly not sure what's up with the e-bell on the right here. It was doing something, but that something ain't what it was supposed to be doing, that's for sure.

After catching NS 287, I went back over to this crossing to wait for whatever train would come next. After about 2 hours of waiting, I finally got my answer: NS 363 with a sextuplet of Dash-9s for power! Admittedly, only the leading two units were online, as the trailing four were dead in tow on their way out to Texas for rebuilding into AC44C6Ms. Still a rather great catch though, easily my best of the day. If you look closely, you may be able to spot the missing numberboards on the last Dash-9.

Since I was last here, a few upgrades have occurred to this crossing. First, and most majorly, the sick GS Type 2 that'd been on the far signal here was replaced with an NEG electronic bell. Second, both signals have had their tip gate lights replaced. The far signal got a new RECO LED gate light, while the closer signal got a new NEG LED gate light. No other changes appear to have occurred to this crossing, however.

On January 17th, I went over to the CSX Chattanooga Subdivision to see about (re)recording some crossings. As the first train I heard coming was a northbound, I decided to set-up at this crossing for it. Here, I wound-up catching my first train of the day, and quite possibly my best catch of the day: CSX M584 with a YN2 AC44CW leading a pair of ES40DCs on the head-end, and CSX 1900, the Seaboard Air Line heritage unit (an ES44AH) working as the mid-train DPU! It'd been several months since I was able to catch a YN2 locomotive leading, with the last ones I caught being back in July when I was on a trip to North Carolina, and the heritage unit mid-DPU was just the icing on the cake! Sadly, the train wound-up stopping on the crossing for a few minutes, as the CSX dispatcher decided to have it stop and meet an eastbound NS train coming off of the Memphis East for some reason. After a bit of waiting (all of which remained uncut in this video), however, I was also able to get my second train of the day here: NS A42 with a decidedly less-interesting pair of AC44C6Ms for power. The leader was one of the first batch rebuilt from the standard-cab Dash-9s NS had, however.

As you can see, not too much has changed to this crossing since I last recorded it. The far signal has had another of its RECO LEDs replaced with an NEG LED gate light, but nothing else here seems to have changed from what I've seen. The gate mechs here do sound a bit grindy, dunno if some bearings have gone bad in them or if they're just in need of some oil.
