Yep, the Weather Star 4000 was the prominent system in use during the 1990s. In fact, the last of the 4000 units went out of service in 2014.

I had the pleasure of getting to see one in person back in 2009.

Dood... I run it on my laptop with Windows 10 with no issues.


I know another dude who's running it on an old XP machine that runs it 24/7... and he has it output to a CRT. Which is how it is best experienced. My old Lappy that died in 2013 could run it also. That was an old Dell Inspiron running Windows Media Edition that I purchased in 2006.
Check the quick start guide. It could just very well be that your video card isn't compatible, and not because of age.

Did you download the XNA Framework?

I did what they said and downloaded the other files (.NET Framework 4.0 and XDA Framework) But now, I am having this error. I would suggest using audio from the YouTube developer tools. I can't even post my simulator videos on Facebook with commercial artist MP3's... they just get KO'ed after processing saying I used copyrighted audio. Feels like fair use to me, especially if I'm not using them for monetization... but, whatev's.
