Went out to Jackson County as I had seven crossings left on the NS Memphis District East End to photograph, but eight that I had yet to record. Got all of them photographed and three recorded today though. However, they all pretty much have the same equipment save for two of them.
This one was the first crossing I recorded today, and it was my highest priority. Entirely due to the fact that it has some rare early blue NS emergency information signs on the signals, like the ones that Monroe Street in Courtland, AL used to have. As far as I'm aware, this is the only crossing left along the line with them.
Another interesting thing about this crossing is how the gate mechanism on the left is a bit broken. When it finishes lowering, it makes an awful sound and the gate arm sags rather low! NS may want to look into fixing that one soon.
This crossing is also actually not on CR 30, but an unnamed connector road between CR 30 (behind my camera) and AL 35 (seen in the background). However, the road is maintained by the county, and the FRA lists it as being on CR 30, so that's what I'm calling it for simplicity's sake.
