On September 14th, my dad and I went over to Long Island, NY so my dad could play some golf and I could record the Long Island Railroad. The first place we went to was the LIRR Mainline in New Hyde Park, NY and saw several trains. This was the first one I saw with an eastbound LIRR M7 train passing through.
This crossing seems to be pretty typical of most LIRR signals, it seems. It's also worth noting that it appears that the LIRR still uses mechanical bells as well, which is nice. The LIRR also uses a lot more Alstom LED gate lights compared to the NJT.
