*originally recorded on 11-28-17*
Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights, a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights, a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, 2 RECO LED gate lights, and an incandescent RECO gate light.
The signals themselves are rather common, as they can be found on current (and sometimes even former) CSX lines across the eastern US, as CSX upgraded many older crossings back in the early to mid 2000s. Somehow, before this, I had managed to avoid recording any of these installs that were still on a line owned by CSX. However, while the signals may be kinda boring, the crossing is somewhat interesting. This crossing didn't exist prior to 2004 according to the FRA, and, as a result, these early to mid 2000s CSX signals are original to the crossing! I also do think these installs can look pretty nice sometimes, though that's probably due to the fact that I grew up on an NS line.
