If I get over there for a visit, I'll see if I can look them up. Maybe they'll be friendlier than the crew at the OERM.

The Broadway update has been moved from the 20th to the 13th. I haven't gotten the other 2 crossings in yet.

P.S., absolutely flimsy, silly looking counterweight support arms in the photo's above, by the way. Poor design all around, holding the gate out close to the road when up, and too low to the ground when down, like those "EM" things. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying anything bad about the people that have and use them, I just mean the initial design wasn't very good.[/quote]
Yeah, it looks like someone made it in their backyard. I like it because it's a classic...but very poor design indeed. I'll just keep mine because they are rare...but I want to replace it with a Model 75...

Also can't forget to mention the tacky looking gates either...

I even saw one of those Model 70's with the breakaway adapter retrofitted to it so it would be easier to replace the gate.
Now why would I want a Safetran...
I've seen way too many problems with those around here. The hold clear on them absolutely suck. That damn ratchet wheel always seems to fail...or the mechanism for it doesn't work properly. I have yet to see a Model 75 hold clear fail...and I see Safetran actually uses the motor from US&S now with the magnetic hold clear. It's about time...

I saw a single guy lift and replace the long gate arm at NW 15th Avenue in Portland once. Nobody else around. He struggled a bit but once he got it onto the gate mechanism, he was okay. I asked if he needed help; not too enthusiastic about that.
This is the gate in question
