This crossing is an interesting one, and is one of the last few crossings in the Panama City area with older equipment in use at it, as a lot of the older equipment in use was replaced when the BAYL purged almost all of their gateless crossings in the area a few years ago. This crossing still retains a Modern Industries mechanical bell, fortunately enough, but it's sounding rather flat (though not as bad as some flat WCH or Safetran mechanical bells I've heard). A few years ago, the crossing still had GRS gate mechanisms an a mixture of older and newer Modern Industries 12 inch lights and a few Federal Signal 12 inch lights and a Safetran 12x24 inch lights. The MI and Federal Signal lights had a mixture of 20 inch and 24 inch backgrounds on them, so I'm guessing that's where the Federal Signal lights here came from. There also used to be a cantilever next ot the left-hand mast signal for St. John Street is with the overhead arm being parallel to the tracks, though it was removed and replaced with the current Safetran cantilever on the opposite side of St. John Street from the tracks. It appears that the gate mast for older cantilever was turned into the current St. John Street signal. The right-hand road signal for St. John Street has had the gate lights on it all wired up to flash at once, while the middle gate light on the signal with the bell flickers rather badly when it's lit. Of course, while I set-up by the pedestrian signal close to the camera to get a good shot of the whole crossing, it had to be the one signal with a dead gate light. The crossing also stays down for a while after the train passes, not entirely sure why.
