MCBs; Manually controlled barriers:

Kintbury level crossing This one has 2 barriers on the left shoulder that cover the entire roadway. Video shot from adjacent signalbox where the controls are.

Paignton level crossing

Don't see much, but we hear the alarms, and see the long visors.

I've been to Paignton some years ago, before I was really interested in trains. I knew that the train was a Class 150, but that's another story. I've been on trains travelling over Gravel Pit, Littlington and Golf Club level crossings. There was a nasty accident at Ufton Nervert a few years ago, a bit like that Metrolink one when a motorist commited suicide. But at Ufton Nervert, the motorist didn't change their mind, and a train travelling at 125 mph hit the car and derailed, killing the motorist, the train driver and seven innocent passengers.

And Ufton Nervert level crossing is still in place, likely because it's so lightly traveled.

It's on the lesser used of two roads leading to the village.
