*originally recorded on 8-30-18*
Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Modern Industries 12x20 inch lights with Patco LEDs, 1 pair of Modern Industries 8 inch lights, a Modern Industries mechanical bell, a GRS gate mechanism, and General Signals gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Modern Industries 12x20 inch lights with Patco LEDs, 1 pair of Modern Industries 8 inch lights, a GRS gate mechanism, and NEG gate lights.
After the TSRR had returned to Columbia, I set-up at this crossing to see if they would go through this crossing. However, as they were only doing some switching near the crossing and didn't go through it, I only got this video of it timing out. However, I don't mind too much as it still let me get a recording of this cool late-L&N install. This crossing is especially cool, as not only does the crossing have 8 inch lights still, it also is the last crossing on the TSRR to have GRS gate mechanisms! Also, about 10 years ago, the far signal still retained the original wooden gate arm, though around 2010, the gate arm was replaced with the current aluminum one. However, despite the closer one having been replaced much sooner, the GRS gate mech still retains the original gate-arm adapter for the wooden gate arm that had been there, though modified to allow for a break-away adapter to hold the current aluminum gate arm. I wouldn't be surprised if the TSRR replaces the gate mechs here soon though, as the right-hand one raised rather slowly, especially compared to the one on the far side. This crossing also has the only MI bell on both this part of the TSRR, and in Columbia as a whole.
This crossing is also located on what used to be a yard, hence the 5 Tracks signs here. However, sometime more recently, the TSRR tore up three of the tracks at this crossing, leaving only the two outer tracks here. They haven't updated the tracks signs to reflect this change though.
