These were the last two trains I caught in Sacramento, two SACRT light rail trains with one heading into the downtown and one heading out from the downtown.

This crossing is a rather weird one. For starters, it features a pair of gateless signals without any bells at it, making it the only gate-less, bell-less crossing on the SACRT system, as well as the only one for each of those descriptors. This isn't the only gateless crossing owned by SACRT, but the only one that the light rail trains operate through, as they're primarily pedestrian crossings on the UP Placerville Branch (nor is it the only bell-less crossing in CA according to Paul SP, who says that there's a few others on the light rail lines around Los Angeles). Another weird thing about the crossing is the fact that it's located on a wye! The trains take the two tracks that curve off to the left while the other two tracks are used to access the SACRT R Street Yard, which is where SACRT stores a few of their trainsets while they aren't being used. To the north of this crossing, the light rail trains are doing more street running, which is likely why the SACRT didn't install any gates here, though I'm not entirely sure why a bell or two weren't installed here. The two trains met at the crossing just north of me, though I had a bit of trouble keeping my shot stable for some reason. The 13th Street Station is located just east of this crossing.
