It appears that the other side had one back in 2011 too, but it was replaced by a split crossbuck (which has since had one of the pieces again replaced):

The next crossing down, 97th Av, also has them. Unfortunately, they are not correctly placed, creating a dangerous situation

The advanced warning sign had them before as well, but were removed...

Kinda reminds me of EVA signals. Maybe there used to be one of those there.
