*originally recorded on 12-28-18*
Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Alstom 12x20 inch lights with Rebel Railway Supply Co. LEDs, a Safetran Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and Progress Rail(?) LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 1.5 pairs of Alstom 12x20 inch lights with Rebel Railway Supply Co. LEDs, an Alstom 12x20 inch light with a Patco LED, a Safetran Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and Progress Rail(?) LED gate lights.
Now for one of the more unique crossings on the NERR Mainline, this crossing features lights and LEDs not seen anywhere else on the NERR. I'm not entirely sure when these were installed, though likely in the mid-2000s, and certainly by December of 2007 according to the earliest street view image available here. The weird thing about the crossing is how it features Alstom light-heads and Rebel Railway Supply Co. LEDs, the latter of which I've only seen at one other crossing (located on the TSRR in Columbia, TN), also in Alstom 12x20s. I'm guessing that the NERR was trialling these lights and LEDs when they put up these signals. Interestingly enough, when one of the original LEDs (likely) died, RSI chose to match it with a another model of LED that had a similar design. Rebel Railway Supply Co. LEDs feature the same LED array as a Patco LED or an RSI LED, though they lack any logos cast into the lens (like an RSI LED) or have many markings on the breadboard (like a Patco LED), aside from the company name being printed to said breadboard. It appears that these LEDs might still be made too, though as Rebel Railway Supply Co.'s website seems to be a bit broken (last I had checked, I couldn't get many, if any, images to load on it), I'm not entirely sure. The signals here are also pretty short, especially for a modern-ish install like this. In fact, the height seems to be about how tall many older gated signals (from the 1970s and before) were. As you can see in the background, this crossing is at the entrance to a cemetery as well.
Sorry about the water drops that got on the lens.
This crossing is in a quiet zone. Trains are not allowed to blow their horns at this crossing.
