After catching the KCS local crossing the diamond, I chased them over to this crossing to catch them heading over NS tracks to the Corinth and Counce Yard to interchange with another KCS train. This crossing is the only gateless NS crossing in NE Mississippi, and is located on a branch line connecting what used to be an ICG mainline with what's now the Corinth & Counce Yard, and it only has two signalized crossings along it. This one is a gateless 1990s NS install, with the only major change being that the original Safetran mechanical bell was replaced with a Safetran Type 3 e-bell sometime between the mid-2000s and now.
Believe it or not, this crossing has the oldest signals on the NS in northeast Mississippi, as the other crossing along the branch is a mid-2000s NS install (also with the bell on the north side of the crossing, like this one). Aside from being gateless and having some 1990s NS signals, the crossing also features a rather long cantilever on one side due to the intersection right next to the crossing, and the angle the tracks here cross at. On the side street coming off at this crossing, there's also a rather aged crossbuck just west of this crossing that features a 1 Track sign at it, oddly enough.

After catching the eastbound NS mixed freight, the NS local freight got going again and was able to get out of the way of the CPKC local as a result. As such, after watching the CPKC local shove down the NS IC District, I decided to hop over to this crossing to wait for it. After a bit of waiting, I was able to catch this CPKC local freight once again, with its matched set of KCS locomotives pulling it by once again.
Sometime after I last filmed this crossing back in 2019, though I believe almost certainly sometime after 2023, NS replaced the Safetran Type 3 e-bell here with the current GS Type 3 e-bell. Thankfully, since then, nothing else appears to have changed to this gateless mid-90s NS install, which is quite nice to see. I'm also quite glad that the lighting here at the time allowed me to record the north side of this crossing as well, as, IMHO, the large Safetran cantilever on this side's more interesting to record than the side with the mast signal, especially since the cantilever here's at a bit of a sharp angle to the crossing due to the angle of the tracks, and the side street on this side of the crossing forcing the mast to be rather far back from the road.
