The maintainer I know replaced the Griswold Type "B" lights at Vinewood...

Here's what it used to look like...

Actually, that was the old gate mech that was hanging out like that. It was like that ever since I can remember...at least the last 15 years or so. It was an old Transport Products mech...but the replaced it last year with a Safetran S-40. One thing I noticed about the S-40's are they sometimes slip and drop back down a little...worse than the gate in the first picture. Every one they installed here does that. I'm glad they switched to US&S Model 95's instead.

As for the lights...he has them right now...and I'm going to try to get them off of him...since they are classics that's for sure.

They're too close together! It would look ok if a wider light bracket had been fitted!
