Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights and a Safetran mechanical bell.
On July 30th, I went on back out to the BAYL since I knew that they'd be running a train out to Greenbrier Rail Services on the west side of Dothan near Taylor, AL. When I was crossing the tracks on Bus. US 231/Bus. US 431 in downtown Dothan on my way to the BAYL's yard, I looked over and just happened to see the train rolling west down the line, so I quickly changed my plans and went on over to this crossing instead, where we see the train rolling through with the AN GP38-3/ISRR GP40 pair for power again.
The signals here are some rather nice ones, having been installed by the SOU in the 1970s. Amazingly enough, despite going through several owners, it appears these signals have never had any major changes to them, retaining the original older Safetran lights and mechanical bells! The signals also retain some NS ENS signs on them, from NS's ownership of the line, though they're now painted over.
In 2003, this line was sold by NS to the Chattahoochee & Gulf Railroad, which was owned by the Gulf & Ohio until 2006, when it was sold again to the G&W, who renamed it the Chattahoochee Bay Railroad. The line remained a separate entity, until just last year, when the G&W merged it into the BAYL, though the ENS signs all still have the Chattahoochee Bay Railroad listed on them.
The signals also did a tail-ring malfunction after the train passed, but I had already stopped my camera when it happened.
