*originally recorded on 7-30-19*
Signal on the left: 1 pair of WCH 12x24 inch lights with Dialight Ball LEDs, 1 pair of WCH 12x24 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs, a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 3 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights, a General Signals Type 1 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO gate lights.
This was the seventh crossing I recorded A724 at on July 30th, and the last crossing I caught the train at before chasing it into Alabama on this day. The crossing appears to be a late-90s/early 2000s install that hasn't had many major changes done to it, at least for the closer signal.
It appears that on the far signal the original GS Type 1 died young and was replaced with the current GS Type 2. Then, sometime after 2017 (and likely as a result from Hurricane Michael), the original Safetran lights on the far signal were replaced with the current LED WCH 12x24s. Despite how much newer the lights on the far signal are though, one of the WCH 2nd Gen LEDs here doesn't work, for some reason.
The closer signal is pretty much almost all original, even retaining a working incandescent gate light! (Though the other one is dead, sadly.) The GS Type 1 on it sounds like it's a bit quiet, while the GS Type 2 on the far signal is nice and loud, which confused me as to which bell was which when I was editing this video. However, I had noted that in person, it sounded like the GS Type 1 was closer, which helped a bit. Comparing this video with another quiet Type 1/loud Type 2 pair I had recorded later pretty much confirmed that the closer bell was a GS Type 1 though.
Not entirely sure how the street here got its name, but it's certainly one of the more interesting names I've seen.
