This was the last crossing I caught A724 at on July 30th, and it was certainly a good one to end off on! It appears that CSX has to slow down a fair amount around Pinckard, likely due to the curves along the line in this area, so I probably would've had plenty of time to chase A724 here on the 28th. However, I was still able to record A724 rolling through here just as twilight was settling in, so all's well that ends well, I guess.
This crossing was a very high priority crossing for me to get, and you can easily see why, as this crossing is pretty much a pure gateless ACL install! The crossing is easily all original, for the most part, with really the only changes from when it was installed being that the signage here was updated over the years. In fact, even though it's a bit hard to see in this video, all but just two of the lights here still retain their original vandal-guards (in fact, all of the lights facing the camera still retain all of theirs)! All in all, I'm glad I was able to record both this crossing and the CR 20 #2 crossing near Ozark, as these two crossings provide some very fine examples of "pure" ACL installs, especially along this line and here in Alabama!
