Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs, a Safetran Type 3 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and Progress Rail(?) LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 4 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs, a dead Safetran Type 3 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and Progress Rail(?) LED gate lights.
After catching G410 in Ansley, I chased him on over to this crossing in downtown Troy, just as the sun was setting. This crossing is pretty nice, despite featuring some newer signals, as the crossing is an entirely pure early-2010s install! In fact, this crossing even retains the original gate lights and bells, which is quite nice to see. Unfortunately, the bell on the cantilever signal is dead, though the other one still works. A bit surprisingly, IMHO, installs of this age on the CSX are quite hard to find these days with their original bells and/or gate lights, especially if they used the Progress Rail(?) gate lights, for some reason.
As you can see, the 2 Tracks signs here are looking pretty faded, though they ain't as bad as the ones at Headland Avenue in Dothan are. Unfortunately, the large, green, healthy-looking plant by the utility pole blocked out most of the gate, so you can only just kinda see two of the gate lights on the closer signal.
These signals were installed to replace a pair of crossbucks, according to Google Street View. In fact, it appears that, for a long time, the only signalized crossings in Troy were Three Notch Road, US 231/AL 10, and a gateless 1980s CSX install on the north side of town.
This crossing is also at the northern end of the Conecuh Valley Railroad. The farther track is the COEH's line while the closer track is the CSX Dothan Subdivision.
