The horn protester who got himself hit at a crossing...

I made a post on the previous forum about this.

A man in Appleton, WI, who was disabled after a grade crossing accident in 1989, began regular protests at grade crossings over the noise. He would sit by the signals, and make obscene gestures at the CN crews as they passed. :Censored:

But one day, it caught up to him, when he parked too close.
The front of his wheelchair got clipped by the locomotive's pilot, sending him spinning.

He was treated for a minor scrape, and given a ticket for a pedestrian violation.

I did a little research, and got information on the date, time, and even the exact location.

The incident happened on July 20, 2004, at 7:25 PM, at the crossing in the intersection of N Appleton St. & W Packard St. in Appleton.

Looks like Karma Came and bit him in the ass. He deserved it! I hope he thinks twice before doing that again. Lets hope the next accident he gets involved in with a train is his LAST if you know what i mean.

Luke:
Was that the intersection of the old photo on Dan's website that used to have all the Wig-Wags? It looks familiar...

Dan's site doesn't say anything about wigwags in Appleton, so I'll say it isn't.

(Drools) There were a few intersection crossings like that along the former C&NW main through Appleton. All the wigwags came down during the Wisconsin Central days, and now Canadian National has gone in and replaced all the signals yet again, with gates, 12" LEDs, and e-bells.
