This crossing is unique in that it's the ONLY double crossing in Independence. This crossing is located near Rock Creek Junction and has always been a crossing I wanted to film at. Note, when the UP signals are active, the safetran mechanical bell doesn't ring, but when the KCS signals are active, the safetran mechanical bell rings, but only from startup until the gates lower. I did include both videos of this crossing I caught in action. The first video is basically a video of what the KCS signals do when the UP signals are active, while the second vid is of the KCS crossing in action with a thunder cab sd70ace as the dpu. The UP crossing used to have a wch mechanical bell, and a wch type 1 electronic bell until UP replaced them with the current gs type 3 e bell, and wch type 4 e bell. The KCS crossing hasn't have any major changes as I know of. Nonetheless, this crossing is a really interesting crossing for those who want to film here, but there are some warnings for those who want to. First of all, there's an illegal dumping site on the other side of the UP tracks (from what I've seen cops in the area), second of all, the bridge on the other side is currently down for repairs, and third, security from the GOAD Company plant has the tendency to stupidly kick you out for no reason.
