Recorded on 5-17-20. Me and Independence Railfanning met up to catch some trains on this cloudy Saturday night. We originally was gonna catch a westbound KCS grain train at Rock Creek Junction, but the train stopped for a really long time for some unknown reason. We ended up abandoning that train and went to the Coffeyville Sub to see if any trains were coming. Sure enough, this southbound manifest came. We filmed it at 12th St #1. Crossing itself is interesting, it's another double crossing with the KCT line. The UP signal used to have wch 12x20 incandescent lights and a wch mechanical bell until UP replaced the bell with the current gs type 2, as well as retrofitted the lights to Electro-Tech Leds. The rear lights on KCT's gated signal and the front lights on the mast signal only flash when a KCT is on that track. The setup here is kinda like how the crossings in Wyandotte, Michigan used to have. The wch mechanical bell here for some reason only rings whenever a KCT train is on their track.
