Recorded 5-28-20. Finally got to catch NS 1070. I went out to the NS KC District since I got word from Myles that it was heading to Voltz Yard. unfortunately it was raining pretty hard which made the trip to the KC District hard for me as I had to go through areas that were getting flooded just to catch this unit lead. Luckily I managed to get to the line in time to catch this westbound manifest with NS 1070 (Wabash) leading. I do apologize if I bumped the tripod in certain parts of this video. I was trying to dig out my phone to take pics of 1070 while holding an umbrella at the same time. lol. This crossing appears to be an 2000's NS install (that's right. A pure NS install unlike Arlington Ave #1 which had BNSF style signals). This crossing protects the Midway U Pull junkyard which can be seen in the distance. For some reason this crossing is called "Junk Yard Road" according to the safety dot map on FRA's site. I don't know what the actual street name for this crossing yet as the road connects to Old Highway 210 and has no signs at all. I assume it's just a driveway to the yard. Until I find out what this street name is actually called, I'll just call it Junk Yard Rd for now on. The gs type 2 here for some rings really quiet for some reason. I sadly couldn't tell if it rings when the gates go up as the rain made it hard to hear. All the lights here are incandescent which is a first for me as most of the crossings I have film at have leds. Forgot to mention, this crossing is just outside of Liberty as the city is north of the NS KC District.
