*originally recorded on 5-28-20*
Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Modern Industries 12x20 inch lights, an Invensys Rail gate mechanism, and RECO gate lights.
Signal on the right: 1.5 pairs of Modern Industries 12x20 inch lights, 1 Safetran 12x24 inch light, a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
After catching Q574 in Buckner, we chased it on up to this crossing on the east side of LaGrange. This was the last place we caught it at, as well as being the last crossing Ethan and I recorded together before he had to head back to Tennessee.
This crossing is certainly a pretty decent one. The signals here are some old L&N 1970s signals, which are still at least somewhat original. It appears that sometime in the 2000s (I'm guessing the late 2000s?), CSX replaced the gate mechanism on this side, with the original GRS gate mech on the far side getting replaced in the early 2010s. The crossing remained unchanged until sometime after 2016, when the closer signal had the original MI mechanical bell replaced along with the front left light.
However, the signals here still do look quite nice, IMHO, especially with how faded the MI 12x20s here have gotten. This crossing is also located along LaGrange Siding.
