*originally recorded on 6-30-20*
Signal on the left: 2 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights, a WCH mechanical bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 3 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights, 2 pairs of WABCO(?) 12x20 inch lights, a WCH mechanical bell, a WABCO Model 75 gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
On June 30th, Ethan and I got on up and got on out to Pembroke to wait on GC L782. We originally set-up at a crossing a bit east of this one, but after I saw what equipment this guy had, we chose to move over here instead. But after a little while of waiting, L782 came rolling through Pembroke with a pair of SD45s for power!
This crossing is a pretty nice one. The signals here appear to be a WABCO install from the 70s, originally installed by the SCL. Then, in the 1980s, the SBD replaced the gate mech on the far side with a Safetran one, followed by CSX replacing the mast lights and bells here with the current WCH ones. Since then, no major changes appear to have occurred here, outside of the closer signal having its gate mast (and only the gate mast) replaced by the Georgia Central at some point.
This crossing features more of those unmarked 12x20s at it, which I believe are from WABCO. The cantilever here, which is the only cantilever in Pembroke, is a WABCO-branded Walpar cantilever, which is quite nice to see. The far signal also features a 4 inch mast, which is a bit unusual for a gated signal. The base itself looks a bit different from a typical 4 inch WABCO base as well.
