*originally recorded on 7-2-20*
Signal on the left: 2 pairs of WABCO 8 inch lights, a WCH mechanical bell, a WABCO Model 75 gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 1 pair of WABCO 8 inch lights, 1 pair of WCH 8 inch lights, a Safetran mechanical bell, a WABCO Model 75 gate mechanism, and RECO gate lights.
After catching L781 near downtown Dublin, I decided to race on over to this crossing to see if we could beat it here. And sure enough, we were just able to beat them to it, as they were approaching the yard on the east side of town and in theory be having to stop and work it.
This crossing is yet again another nice one. The signals here are another WABCO install from the SCL, though it's had a few changes over the years. It appears that in the 1980s, the bell on the far side was replaced with a 1st Generation WCH mechanical bell, with the nearer signal getting struck and having half of the lights on it replaced with WCH 8 inch lights. Then, in the 1990s (most likely), the GC replaced the bell on the closer signal with a Safetran mechanical bell. At some point, the gate mech on the closer signal also got some WRRS counterweight arms, but other than that, I'm personally not aware of any other major changes here.
Like 2nd Street in Danville, this crossing also features a set of incandescent gate lights on the closer signal, though this crossing ain't entirely incandescent as the far set appears to be LED. The wind-guards on the signals are also both off at odd angles, making them rather useless. Still quite a nice crossing to record though.
