Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs, an NEG electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
After catching Q028 in Dellrose, Ethan and I went on up to this crossing on the south side of Cornersville. After a little while of waiting, Q026 came through with a pair of ET44AHs leading and another ET44AH working as the mid-train DPU.
This crossing is another nice one. It features a pair of L&N-era gated signals, which had the lights upgraded in the 90s with the gate mechs and bell being replaced in the 2000s. The crossing remained unchanged until the early 2010s, when the General Signals e-bell here was replaced and the crossing got an LED upgrade with the rest of the line. Still not a bad crossing though, and was actually one of the ones I had wanted to record when I first visited this part of the line back in 2017.
