Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs and an NEG electronic bell.

After catching Q514, Ethan and I moved up to this crossing as Q514 was going to meet Q025 at McDaniel. After a little while of waiting, Q025 came through with an ES44AH leading a CM44AC on the head-end, and another ES44AH working as the mid-train DPU.

This crossing is a pretty nice one, featuring a pair of gateless L&N signals at it. It appears that these signals were upgraded to the current lights and a GS Type 1(?) e-bell in the late-90s, with the lights getting an LED upgrade in about 2013 or sometime around there. Then, in 2017, the GS e-bell here died and was replaced with the current NEG e-bell. Thankfully though, this crossing still remains gateless with it's aged L&N-era signals at it, especially since this is currently one of only two remaining gateless crossings on the CSX S&NA North Subdivision's mainline in Tennessee.
There's also a nice hill right behind this crossing, especially on the right-hand side of the road, which provides quite a nice angle to this crossing (which you should see in Ethan's video of this crossing). I also love the view across the valley from this side, with US 31A being seen on the other side of the crossing.
