Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs.
After getting the updated crossings documented and the one I'd missed previously, I saw that a northbound was lined through Cullman, so I set on up at this crossing. After a while of waiting, this northbound intermodal train came rolling through with an ET44AH leading an ES44AH on the head-end, and another ET44AH working as the mid-train DPU.
This crossing was the last mainline signalized crossing in Cullman I had yet to record, and it's certainly quite a nice one. The signals here are some nice L&N-era gateless signals, which appear to have had the lights and bell all replaced in the early 2000s. Since then, the only major change to the signals appears to have been the upgrade to LED, which would've occurred around 2013 or so. Thankfully, the signals themselves have managed to live on, and, IMHO, look quite nice as they stand. The lights have pretty nicely faded with the masts having a good well-aged look to them.
Given the fact that Cullman's apparently putting in a quiet zone, I wouldn't be surprised if these signals get upgraded soon, so I'm glad to have finally been able to record this crossing. I also accidentally stood on an ant nest here that I didn't realize was here while waiting for the train, so that was fun...
