Prospect Road, Prospect, AL
*originally recorded on 12-10-20*
Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG gate lights.
This was the sixth and final crossing I caught NS 320 at, though it wasn't my last video of the day. As 320 was meeting NS 329 at Gamble just to the SE of here, I decided to hang around and chase NS 329 back north a bit, as it had a more interesting lash-up than NS 320.
This crossing is another decent one, if also a bit boring. The signals here were installed by NS in the early 2000s, replacing a pair of crossbucks that originally protected the crossing here. Interestingly enough, these are actually the oldest signals in Prospect, and the next two crossings west have progressively newer signals. One of those two crossings can also be heard towards the beginning of the video.
They/Them for me, please.

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a dead General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG gate lights.
After catching NS 329 in Jasper, I chased it back north to this crossing for one final video, as I thought this crossing would make for a good angle to film 329 at. Here we see NS 329 once more, passing through Prospect. After this, I went to visit a friend in the area for a minute before I continued on back home for the evening.
Since I was last here, NS has replaced the gate lights on the far signal with a set of RECO LED gate lights. Otherwise, no major changes to the equipment have occurred here, though sadly, the GS Type 2 on the closer signal has also died since my last video at this crossing.
