*originally recorded on 12-18-20*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights and a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights.

This was the next crossing I chased NS 320 to, and here we see it pulling into the siding at CP Bryan so NS 329 can pass. After the train passed, I thought about going to the next crossing east for NS 329, but sadly, it was already right on top of me when that happened. I did try to go there for NS 320, but 320 was already leaving the siding when I got there, so no luck on that one either.

This crossing is a pretty nice one though, featuring a pair of old SOU-era gateless signals which have been modernized over the years. It appears that originally, this crossing featured a pair of GRS signals installed by the SOU (I'm guessing back in the 50s or so?), but in the 1970s, the closer signal was replaced with a newer Safetran one. Then, in the late-1970s/early-1980s, the far signal had its original GRS(?) 8 inch lights replaced, most likely with a set of GRS Lex-C lights based on the junction box logo. Then, in the 1980s, NS replaced all of the lights here with the current Safetran 12x24 inch lights. Since then, the only change here appears to have been that the previous bell here (I'm guessing either the original WRRS mechanical bell or a newer Safetran mechanical bell) was replaced with the current GS Type 2 in the 2000s. Overall though, this is still a pretty nice crossing, so I'm glad I recorded it.
Also, due to the fact that this crossing sits at the end of a siding, an old Southern Railway signal bridge can be found right next to the crossing, complete with its original older Safetran signals. Sadly, it's out of frame here, but it's still nice to see.
