Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights with GE Uniform Look LEDs, a General Signals Type 3 electronic bell, a Safetran-branded Siemens gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.

On December 21st, I went back out to the NS NA District to finish documenting the crossings along the line and chase NS 320 again. Once I finished documenting this crossing, I decided to set-up here to wait for NS 320, since I figured it would be getting close. Not too long after, I heard them pass the 22.6 defect detector in Russellville, but it took them a good while longer due to having to climb up the hill between there and here, apparently getting as slow as 5 MPH at one point.
However, they eventually made it through here with an ES44AC leading a Dash-9 and an SD70IACe as the mid-train DPU.

This crossing is a pretty decent one, featuring a pair of NS signals from about 2017 or so. These signals are original to the crossing, which appears to have been created around that time. However, no major changes appear to have occured to this crossing since the signals were installed. This is one of only two signalized crossings in Spruce Pine, and while the other features incandescent lights and slightly older signals, I chose to record this one because it also has a rather tall mast on the far side of the crossing and would provide a nicer angle compared to the other crossing.

After catching NS 320 in Russellville, I continued on south down to Spruce Pine, as I wanted to get one more shot of it, due to the KCS power on the head-end. Here we see 320 once more, passing through the private crossing in Spruce Pine. After this, I let it go and returned back to the Shoals for a few more crossings.

Since I was last here, it appears that one of the closer signal's RECO LED gate lights had died and was replaced with a RECO incandescent gate light. No other changes appear to have occurred to this crossing, however.
