First video description:
On December 28th, I went out to get at least one of the last three crossings on the NS West End District recorded, and I decided to go with this one. However, when I got down here, I found it malfunctioning, so I called it on into NS.
A maintainer did later come out here to fix it, and replaced both of the blown bulbs as well. Certainly nice seeing another GS Type 1 here though. Also, I was later able to confirm that the suspected "ballast train" was actually just a bunch of Herzog ballast hoppers being stored.

Second video description:
*originally recorded on 12-28-20*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights and a Safetran Type 3 electronic bell.
Signal on the right: 1 pair of Safetran 12x24 inch lights, 1 pair of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, and a General Signals Type 1 electronic bell.

After seeing the crossing malfunction (and chatting with the signal maintainer), I hung out here to wait on NS 329 to head north. After a while of waiting, it eventually came through with an NS ES44DC leading an NS Dash-9, a UP AC44CW, a UP SD70M, a UP SD70ACe, and a trio of UP AC4460CWs! The mid-DPU was just a typical NS ET44AC, but the long head-end lash-up with the AC4460CWs was easily one of my favorite catches on NS 329.

The crossing here is also pretty nice. The signals here were installed by the Southern Railway in the 1970s (it appears), though I think the front-right light had its original 20 inch background replaced at some point (not sure when, though). However, in the 1990s, the far signal had its lights replaced with the current Safetran 12x20s over there. Then, in the late-90s, at least the bell on the closer signal was replaced with the current GS Type 1, assuming the far signal didn't also get another GS Type 1 at around the same time.
Then, in the early 2000s, it appears, the closer signal had the rear-left light replaced with a newer Safetran 12x20 inch light, followed by the bell on the far signal being replaced with the current Safetran Type 3 by 2008.
Then, between 2008 and 2013, the front-left light on the closer signal was replaced with a re-used Safetran 12x24 inch light from the early to mid-90s.
Since then however, no changes have occured here, which is quite nice to see given how nice this crossing is.
This crossing is also located underneath the I-20/I-59 & US 31/US 280 interchange in downtown Birmingham, with part of Birmingham's skyline being visible on the left-hand half of the screen. When I was here, this road was closed for some road work seen in the background, though it may be back open by now (haven't been back here in awhile, so I can't say for sure).
