*originally recorded on 1-6-21*
Signal on the left: 3 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Dialight Ball LEDs and a General Signals Type 3 electronic bell.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Dialight Ball LEDs and a General Signals Type 3 electronic bell.
After catching the local causing Highland Avenue in Jasper to time out, I went on over to this crossing to begin my short chase of it. Here we see the local rolling through with a GP39-3 leading a GP35u, running lite.
This crossing is a pretty decent one. It appears that originally here there was a pair of gateless signals installed in the mid-90s by the BN, but with the typical bell upgrade BNSF did in the 2000s to this line. However, sometime after 2014, BNSF went through and upgraded this crossing, replacing both signals entirely with brand new gateless ones, which probably makes this one of the more boring crossings in/around Townley, IMHO.
However, with this crossing though, I have been able to record every signalized crossing in Townley! As you can probably see in the video as well, this crossing also still retains a wooden grade, which is always nice to see. AL 124 can also be seen on the other side of the crossing.
