*originally recorded on 6-23-21*

Signal on the left: 1 pair of Harmon 8 inch lights, 1 pair of Safetran 8 inch lights, 2 pairs of Harmon 12x20 inch lights with General Signals LEDs, a General Signals Type 3 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 8 inch lights, a General Signals Type 3 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.

On June 23rd, Ethan and I got on back-up to see about trying to chase L781 once again. Unfortunately, they wound-up hitting a tree around Franklinton, which delayed them several hours. Once they did get going though, we were able to chase them all the way from just north of Ripley to Dublin, where they wound-up tying down for the evening. This was the only crossing we filmed them at, where we get to see them rolling through Jeffersonville with a GP38-2 leading a trio of B32-8s.

This crossing's a rather nice one, so I'm glad I've gotten it recorded. The signals are a late-70s SCL install, which is mostly original. Unfortunately, by 2010, the original Safetran mechanical bell on the closer signal had died, and was then replaced with a General Signals e-bell (I believe a Type 2) between 2010 and 2012. The crossing remained unchanged for several years after that, until about 2020 (it appears) when the bells on both signals must've died and were replaced with the current pair of General Signals Type 3s. Then, sometime within the past year, the overhead lights on the cantilever were all upgraded to LED, but everything else was left the same.
This crossing is still a nice one though, and it's always nice to see more 8 inch lights in action. Also quite nice to see an older Harmon cantilever here too, don't believe the GC has too many of these left along their line.
Owensri2 also has a video taken at this crossing back in 2010, when it still had both of its original bells, and as you can see, the one on the mast signal here was dead at the time.

Jeffersonville's city hall can be seen on the right as well, located inside the former depot.
