*originally recorded on 6-24-21*
Signal on the left: 2 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights, a General Signals Type 3 electronic bell, a WCH gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights, a WCH mechanical bell, a WCH gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
After catching Y103 at Washington Street, we raced it over to this crossing in East Dublin, where we were successfully able to beat it, thankfully. Here we see this GP38-2 running lite just one more time as it heads to work the small yard & branch out on the east end of town.
This crossing is a pretty nice one, featuring an old WCH SBD install from the 1980s, which is still largely original. The only major change here that I can observe is that the far signal had its original WCH bell replaced with the current GS Type 3 sometime between 2015 and 2019, but no other major changes have occured before or since to the signals. The remaining WCH mechanical bell here still sounds rather loud and healthy though, so hopefully no changes occur to this crossing for a while as well. Either way though, I'm glad to have finally been able to record these older WCH signals in action.
