Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs, a General Signals Type 1 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, RECO LED gate lights, and an NEG LED gate light.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs, an NEG electronic bell, a Siemens gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.
After catching the train at Martin Street, we went on up to Main Street to catch whatever our next train would be. After some more waiting, it turned out the train we were catching would actually be the same one, with the power shoving back down to the train to take it north later.
This crossing's another nice one, featuring a pair of signals installed by the SCL back in the mid-70s, it appears possibly replacing a pair of old ACL signals. In the early 80s, however, the far signal seems to have had all of its original Safetran 8 inch lights replaced by WABCO 8 inch lights. Then, in the mid-90s, CSX replaced the front lights on both signals with Safetran 12x24 inch lights, along with the original Safetran gate mechanism on the far side getting replaced with the current one. Then, in the late-90s, the bell on that side (I'm guessing it was the original 1st Gen Safetran and it had died) got replaced with the current GS Type 1 e-bell, though after this, it appears no more major changes would occur to this crossing for another decade.
In the early 2010s, however, the lights here were all replaced with the current Safetran 12x24 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs, though nothing else had changed at this crossing yet. Then, around 2016, the original 1st Gen Safetran mechanical bell on the closer signal died and was replaced with the current NEG e-bell. Finally, sometime within the past few years, the original mid-70s Safetran gate mech on the closer signal was replaced with the current Siemens one.
Despite all of these upgrades though, I do still think the signals here are rather nice. The GS Type 1 on the far signal's still quite nice to see, so I'm glad it's managed to hang-on at this crossing. Hopefully it remains here for a good while longer.
