Swords Road, Swords, GA

*originally recorded on 6-30-21*
The lone signal here has two pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights and an NEG electronic bell.
After a few hours of waiting here, I started (kinda) hearing CSX Q198 calling nearby signals over the scanner, so Ethan and I started our cameras rolling, and not too long after, Q198 came rolling through with an ET44AH on the head-end and an ES44AH working as the mid-train DPU. Interestingly enough, the mid-DPU is actually the same locomotive we'd seen on Q197 the day prior, although the head-end power is a different ET44AH.
The crossing here is another rather cool one, featuring a very unique install: this crossing, despite being on a two-way road, only has one signal! Originally, this crossing had a bell-only install (most likely with a US&S Teardrop bell) that had been put-up by the Georgia Road. However, in the late-90s, CSX replaced the bell-only signal here with the current gateless mast signal, but didn't bother installing a second on the far side, for some reason. It appears this signal also originally had a GS Type 1(?) e-bell, though that was sadly replaced with the current NEG e-bell sometime after 2016. Thankfully though, this crossing still remains as a unique "one-signal wonder", so I'm glad I've gotten to be able to record it. Hopefully CSX doesn't give it any upgrades anytime soon (though as this line literally only sees two daily trains, plus as needed coal trains, I doubt they will).
