*originally recorded on 8-2-21*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights, a General Signals Type 1 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.

After catching Q523 in Verbena, I decided to chase it down here to Deatsville to film this crossing. I'd originally thought about filming it in Marbury (probably refilming the crossing I'd already filmed there in 2019, which hasn't changed since that video, BTW), but decided to just watch the head-end roll past and continue on down to this crossing.

This crossing is another nice one, featuring another old L&N install from about the 1950s or so. It appears that this crossing had everything on the signals themselves replaced in the late-90s or so, but since then, no major changes have occured to this crossing, thankfully. The GS Type 1 here sounds a bit scratchy, so hopefully it isn't on the way out, but it is nice to hear that this is one and it still works. The lights are also all mounted on the original TPC extensions from the mast, which are great to see. All in all, this is a great little crossing and I'm glad to have been able to film it as well.

No major changes here as of 5-16-24, though the bell here now rings until the gates rise:
