*originally recorded on 8-2-21*

Signal on the left: 3 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights and a General Signals Type 1 electronic bell.

After catching Q523 in Deatsville, I tried to chase them down to this crossing, only for them to stop on the north side of Elmore to meet a northbound coming out of Montgomery. I didn't realize that until I got here though, so I just decided to stay here and see what I'd get. After a little while of waiting though, this northbound autorack train came rolling through with a pair of YN2 AC44CWs leading a YN3 ES40DC! This was easily another one of my favorite catches from the trip, so I'm glad I stuck it out for this. Also, interestingly enough, the trailing AC44CW and the ES40DC were the same units from the Q220 I'd caught the day before over on the AWP Sub.

This crossing is another nice one, featuring a pair of WCH signals installed by the Seaboard System back in the 1980s, which are still mostly original. In fact, it appears that the only major change here is that, in the late-90s, CSX replaced the original WCH mechanical bell here with the current GS Type 1, but since then, no major changes have occured here, thankfully. The GS Type 1 here also still sounds quite nice, and the older WCH lights look good too, so I'm quite glad to have gotten this crossing recorded. Hopefully nothing changes to it for a good while longer.
