*originally recorded on 9-23-21*
Signal on the left: 6 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights with GE Uniform Look LEDs, a General Signals Type 3 electronic bell, a WCH gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 5 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights with GE Uniform Look LEDs, a WCH gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
After catching M715 at 24th Street, they were thankfully short enough that I was able to beat them over to this crossing, and finally get it recorded. This crossing originally had a pair of gateless cantilevers (with all MI equipment) from the L&N, which were still entirely original. However, in 2015, the ATN replaced the signals here with the current gated cantilevers. Since then, no major changes have occured to this crossing, so it still features the pretty standard mid-2010s Omnitrax install.
Interestingly enough, when they put-in the new signals here, they chose to emulate the older ones, as the current ones lack any rear lights and the only bell here is located on the far signal. The ATN also chose to install an extra set of overhead lights on each cantilever, which is certainly rather unusual for crossings in this area as well.
