Signal on the left: 2 pairs of WCH 8 inch lights, a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a WCH gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of WCH 8 inch lights, a Safetran Type 2 electronic bell, a WCH gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
After catching Amtrak 90, I continued on north to this crossing, where I set-up to wait for my next train. After about half an hour of waiting, this southbound mixed freight came through with an ES44AH on the head-end and another ES44AH working as the mid-train DPU.
This crossing is another nice one, featuring another nice pair of older WCH signals with 8 inch lights. It appears that these signals were originally installed by the SCL back in the late-70s, and haven't changed too much since then. In the 2000s, it appears that the far signal's original bell died and was replaced with the current GS Type 2, followed by the closer signal's original bell dying and getting replaced with the current Safetran Type 2 e-bell a few years later. Since then, however, no major changes appear to have occurred to this crossing, which is rather nice to see.
Always do enjoy seeing older WCH signals like this, especially when they still retain their original gate mechs and 8 inch lights. The lights here are also rather nicely faded, which I always enjoy seeing. Hopefully these signals remain mostly unchanged for years to come.
